GROUNDBREAKING PROJECTS

The pioneering “Framework” project was the first wood/mass timber high-rise design in the history of the United States to receive governmental approval for construction via the building permit process. The project sought to be a catalyst that connected sustainable urban development to rural economic growth regionally and nationally. Framework was supported by a 1.5 million dollar award from the US Tall Wood Building Prize Competition to offset the costs of testing and peer review necessary to pursue a performance-based project beyond what is permitted in current building codes.

Faster Permits played a critical role in this groundbreaking project – obtaining approvals for an unprecedented design that building codes were not prepared to address.
